- Wallets connected to Strategy moved 3,568 BTC, valued at roughly $297 million, sparking initial concerns of another Bitcoin sell-off.
- Data from Arkham indicates these transfers were routine Fidelity Custody operations, with no evidence that Strategy was liquidating its Bitcoin.
Bitcoin wallets associated with Strategy recently transferred 3,568 BTC, representing a value of about $297 million. The blockchain analytics tool Lookonchain detected 12 distinct transfers occurring over a nine-hour period, with individual transactions spanning from 138 BTC to 452 BTC. Because Strategy ranks among the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, the movement quickly drew market attention. However, Arkham Intelligence analyst Emmett Gallic clarified that the transactions did not signal a Bitcoin sell-off. Gallic explained that the transfers represented standard activity inside Fidelity Custody, noting that Arkham had previously identified those specific addresses as Fidelity wallets.
These are neither selling or moving.
These are normal movements within Fidelity Custody.

Previous Bitcoin Sales Have Contributed to the Confusion
Market anxiety was amplified by Strategy’s recent steps to monetize its Bitcoin holdings. Launched on June 29, Strategy’s Bitcoin Monetization Program is designed to sell Bitcoin in cycles to generate USD reserves, a strategy projected to yield up to $1.25 billion for the company.
Furthermore, Strategy had previously disclosed similar liquidations. The company sold 1,363 BTC between June 29 and June 30 at an average price of $59,256 per Bitcoin, followed by another 2,225 BTC sold between July 1 and July 5 at an average of $60,773 per Bitcoin. Consequently, the latest wallet movements caught the close attention of traders, though Arkham confirmed no sales took place during these recent transactions.
Bitcoin Buy Continues for Strategy
Contrasting with earlier sell-offs, a new filing revealed that Strategy has continued buying Bitcoin. Between September 21 and September 27, the company acquired 1,665 Bitcoins at a total cost of roughly $142.7 million, resulting in an average acquisition price of approximately $85,681 per coin.
Following this acquisition of 1,665 Bitcoins, Strategy’s aggregate Bitcoin holdings grew to 847,666 BTC. The firm has spent approximately $63.95 billion acquiring these coins, bringing its overall average purchase price to $75,437 per Bitcoin.
With Bitcoin trading near $83,800, the approximate market value of these reserves sits close to $71 billion, placing the current Bitcoin price more than 10% higher than Strategy’s average acquisition cost. This latest purchase was funded through MSTR sales and the allocation of $103.5 million toward buying STRC preferred shares. Additionally, Strategy maintains $6.02 billion in U.S. dollar reserves.
