Setting the Stage for the Next Wave of Robotics & AI

The Robotics & AI Global Showcase 2026 began with networking and registration, giving attendees an opportunity to connect with founders, investors, global delegates, trade representatives, and technology leaders before the formal program began.

The official opening featured Shawn Flynn, Managing Director of SVH Capital, and Alex Dantas, CEO of Circuit Launch & MechLabs, who introduced the vision behind the showcase and its focus on robotics, AI, investment, and international collaboration.

The setting was particularly fitting.

Circuit Launch is a hardware-focused innovation community supporting startups working across electronics, IoT, VR, AR, and other emerging technologies. Its combination of workspace, laboratories, micromanufacturing capabilities, and access to engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, and hardware-focused investors created a natural environment for a showcase centered on physical technology.

Rather than treating robotics and AI as separate industries, the event brought them together around a shared vision of physical intelligence—systems that can perceive, reason, adapt, and act in the environments where people live and work.

Keynote Address: Computing for the Industrialization of Outer Space

The program featured a keynote address by Thomas Coughlin, President of Coughlin Associates, focused on “Storage and Memory Technologies for the Industrialization of Outer Space.”

The session explored how next-generation storage and memory technologies could support sustainable industrial operations beyond Earth, with particular attention to advanced computing, data storage, resilient memory systems, autonomous robotics, and the emerging space economy.

The topic expanded the robotics conversation beyond today’s factories and cities.

As autonomous systems become increasingly capable, their effectiveness will depend not only on AI models and robotic hardware, but also on the underlying computing and data infrastructure that allows those systems to function in demanding environments.

The keynote placed robotics within a much larger technological picture—one where advanced computing infrastructure becomes essential to the expansion of autonomous systems into new frontiers.

Key Conversations: From Scaling Robotics to Smart Cities and the Future of Work

The showcase brought together founders, investors, corporate leaders, and technology experts to examine the challenges and opportunities shaping robotics and AI—from commercialization and investment to smart infrastructure and workforce readiness.

Panel discussions included “Global Robotics Innovation: From Lab to Market: Scaling Robotics Companies Globally,” focused on the path from prototype to commercial adoption, and “AI, Smart Cities & Industrial Transformation,” examining how intelligent systems could reshape urban infrastructure, industrial operations, public services, and connected cities.

The program also featured a series of fireside chats that brought together industry leaders, investors, and workforce experts to examine the forces shaping the future of AI and robotics. These conversations included “AI Investment from a Founders Point of View,” exploring emerging investment trends and what investors are seeking in the next generation of AI and robotics companies, and “Upskilling at Scale: Preparing Workers for Future Robotics and AI Impact,” focused on reskilling, public-private collaboration, and preparing workers for an increasingly automated economy.

That shift is already changing how leaders think about the future of work and industry. As Shermie Zhang, Co-Founder of Circuit Launch, noted: “Anything you can standardize means you can copy and paste very easily.” She also emphasized that “it’s that last 5% that’s really going to take your 80% of the effort,” underscoring the operational challenges companies face when moving from prototypes and pilots to scalable, manufacturable products. The showcase examined that ecosystem—from the capital and infrastructure required to scale new technologies to the partnerships and workforce development needed to deploy them responsibly.

Together, these sessions framed robotics and AI as not only a technology story, but also a story about capital, infrastructure, regulation, business models, and people.

Founder & Startup Spotlight: Innovation Moving Into the Physical World

The showcase also featured a dedicated Founder & Startup Spotlight, highlighting companies working across different areas of robotics and AI.

The session featured Michael Kelly, CTO of Dolphin Labs Ocean; Elvy Yao, Co-Founder of Trellis Robotics; Evan Owen, Co-Founder of Qwerky AI, Akash Saraf, CEO & Founder of Sanscritic.ai; and Amit Kumar Gupta, Co-Founder of Nosh Robotics.

The diversity of these companies reflected how broad the emerging physical AI ecosystem has become.

Dolphin Labs Ocean is working on robotics and infrastructure for ocean environments, addressing the challenge of persistent monitoring and autonomous operations in one of the world’s most difficult environments.

Trellis Robotics is developing specialized robotic systems designed to reach challenging industrial environments, demonstrating how unconventional robotic designs can address problems that traditional machines may struggle to solve.

Qwerky AI approaches the problem from another direction, focusing on enterprise intelligence and the development of AI systems that can learn specialized concepts and skills within organizations.

Meanwhile, Sanscritic.ai is exploring metareasoning, simulations, and recursive self-improvement, pointing toward a future in which AI systems may increasingly help experts reason through complex problems rather than simply automate individual tasks.

Together, these startups illustrated a fundamental shift in the industry:

The future of robotics will not be defined by one type of machine. It will be shaped by specialized systems designed for specific environments, industries, and challenges.

Beyond the Showcase: Experiences in Motion

Beyond the formal sessions, the event featured a dedicated Robotics Showcase, creating an opportunity to highlight emerging founders and technologies working at the intersection of robotics and AI.
