  • Wallets containing between 100 and 1,000 BTC have gathered 113,950 BTC starting July 15, boosting their combined balance by 2.22% to reach 5.24 million BTC.
  • At present, Bitcoin exchanges hands at $84,462, as ongoing accumulation points to heightened whale participation across the sector.

Bitcoin (BTC) changes hands at $84,462 right now, marking a 2% decline alongside a volume totaling $42.188 billion. Over the past 24 hours, the asset has moved between a low of $83,654 and a peak of $86,254, while the broader seven-day spread covers $75,971 up to $87,329.

Notably, BTC previously consolidated in the lower $60,000 range on robust high-timeframe support while much of the market anticipated an October bottom that did not materialize. Prices held firm, reclaimed every weekly benchmark, and surged close to 50% from those troughs to recent peaks.

The Wallet Tier That Saw It Coming

Holders with 100 to 1,000 BTC represent one of the most dependable smart money indicators identified in Santiment’s five-year data, showing a strong link to overall market trends where accumulation frequently precedes or accompanies robust price phases. Ever since July 15, this cohort has acquired 113,950 BTC, expanding their total reserves by 2.22% to approximately 5.24 million BTC.

This indicator gains further strength when market valuations rise alongside their reserves, which is precisely what occurred. Bitcoin advanced rapidly from mid-August onward while this demographic continued stacking coins, indicating that the upward move derived backing from well-funded investors rather than mere retail enthusiasm. Consistent buying from this category, combined with retail apprehension and exchange flow statistics, has historically served as a useful source of alpha.

Key Support and Resistance Levels of BTC

The leading cryptocurrency surged toward $87,000 prior to facing rejection at a primary resistance ceiling—an outcome that had been anticipated beforehand. It has subsequently retreated to stabilize near $84,462. While the pullback was anticipated, market participants are now focusing on price action within the $83,000 to $84,000 band.

The crucial immediate threshold is $85,000; recapturing it brings the $86,000–$86,400 region back into play. Conversely, dropping below $83,600 targets $82,800–$83,000 next. Beyond that, attention turns toward $82,700 initially, followed by $78,600 as a more substantial support zone.

Looking upward, the $84,000–$87,000 resistance band remains a critical barrier, where a decisive breakout past the neckline clears the route for further gains. Buyers successfully defended the $58,000–$60,000 territory twice earlier in the cycle, establishing a foundation that enabled all subsequent price action.

Securing a weekly close above $83,000 would definitively validate the shift in market structure and confirm the ongoing recovery. The upcoming 48 hours centered around the $83,000–$85,000 bracket will determine whether current conditions represent a healthy consolidation phase or the beginning of a more extensive correction.
