- Binance has incorporated Hyperliquid’s HYPE token into its spot market, featuring trading pairs for HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY.
- By applying its Seed Tag to HYPE, Binance mandates that individuals complete a risk-awareness quiz prior to executing trades.
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has officially rolled out spot trading for Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token, bringing the asset to one of the world’s leading platforms just as its price experiences a downturn following a robust weekly performance.
According to the official platform announcement, spot trading for HYPE commenced on September 24 at 11:00 UTC across three distinct pairs: HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY. The exchange charged zero BNB for the listing fee, and withdrawal services are slated to begin on September 25 at 11:00 UTC. Access to the HYPE/TRY market remains restricted to verified Binance TR account holders.
Additionally, Binance attached its Seed Tag to the Hyperliquid project. The platform reserves this classification for novel or innovative digital assets that generally present greater risk and volatility compared to more established tokens. Binance clarified that participants looking to trade Seed Tag properties via Spot or Margin features must successfully pass a risk-awareness quiz once every 90 days and agree to relevant terms before they can trade.
The platform cautioned that because Hyperliquid is a relatively fresh token, it may encounter significant price fluctuations. While spot algorithmic orders were activated immediately upon launch, Binance noted that Trading Bots and Spot Copy Trading functions would become available within 24 hours.
HYPE Price Pulls Back as Bitcoin and Crypto Market Retreat
Market metrics from CoinMarketCap place HYPE near $91, reflecting a 24-hour decline of roughly 4.91%. The token registers a 24-hour trading volume near $1.28 billion alongside a market capitalization close to $22.84 billion, placing HYPE at the 10th position globally by market cap on the platform.
Data on Binance’s dedicated live pricing page tracks the altcoin trading near $90.33, with a 24-hour peak of $95.97 and a trough of $90.20. These minor discrepancies stem from natural market shifts and differing snapshot timestamps.
Downward momentum for Hyperliquid preceded the opening of its Binance spot market, coinciding with a broader market correction. During the session, Bitcoin dropped beneath $84,000 following an earlier push toward nearly $87,300, while numerous leading altcoins suffered declines. Large-cap token HYPE dropped between 5% and 6% amid the sell-off, whereas Ethereum retreated by upwards of 2.7% and XRP fell past 6%.
This market softening follows an aggressive upward push by Bitcoin earlier in the week, creating downward pressure for major cryptocurrencies and altcoins on Thursday.
Even with the 24-hour drop, HYPE maintains a 15% gain over the trailing week. Historical numbers from CoinMarketCap indicate the token finished at $85.06 on September 17 prior to hitting an intraday peak of $97.98 on September 23, ultimately closing that day at $93.97. Securing a Binance listing provides Hyperliquid with another prominent centralized market presence following its recent valuation growth.
